Julianna Crowder
We are very happy to welcome Julianna Crowder as our new ScolioPilates certified instructor focused on teaching private, duo and group classes for the unique spine. Julianna comes to us with a long-standing history as a dancer, Pilates instructor and entrepreneur. In 2001, she opened and ran an award-winning Competitive Dance Company, well known for its “Mother’s Day Out” and Afterschool programs. In 2007 Julianna’s path motivated her to pursue a career in personal empowerment and self-defense education which led to creating an organization called A Girl & A Gun Women’s Shooting League. Over the next 14 years, this organization would become a nationally recognized power-house with thousands of women nationwide finding a strong sense of confidence, empowerment and community.
In December 2018, Julianna took this entrepreneurial experience into the Pilates world. She had started experiencing more injuries herself and began to seek out better ways to understand and move her body. Through her love of experiencing Pilates classes, Julianna decided to become an instructor herself, so she could help others rebuild their bodies as well and share her knowledge to encourage people that movement was the key to health and body longevity.
Today, she comes to ScolioAustin with a strong belief that ongoing education, evidence-based practice and self-improvement are the best ways to set her apart from the traditional Pilates instructor. She is excited to use her recent certification from ScolioPilates to expand ScolioAustin’s offerings of scoliosis specific muscle re-education using Pilates methodology while she continues to offer her other specialized Pilates classes for: osteoporosis, pre-natal and post-natal, sport specific injuries, dancers and anyone who desires a better way to know their body one-on-one. It is her goal to bring functional movement to all areas of life to allow her clients to maintain a high quality of life. As joseph Pilates so eloquently said “change happens through movement and movement heals”
