Your PEACE OF MIND is OUR PROMISE to you.
Danielle Vernon, PT, MDT, BSPTS (C2) is a purposeful, innovative physical therapist & entrepreneur with 23 years of experience in orthopedics & spine conditions.
In her early career, she successfully developed work-site injury prevention programs, return to work & wellness programs with Seattle and Washington State transit systems. In 2011, in conjunction with her occupational safety experience, she invented and patented a better back support posture cushion for office workers and drivers called the Backbone Cushion (TM) which currently sells around the world. She has participated as a clinical educator and lecturer for students, conferences and seminars throughout the US and Canada sharing her orthopedic and spine knowledge. Danielle has spent the last 5 years focusing her passion for helping patients with spinal conditions which culminated in becoming the only scoliosis physical therapy specialist in the US to hold all 5, evidence-based, scoliosis specialty certifications. These include the Barcelona (BSPTS) – Rigo Method, Schroth Method (ISST from Germany), SSOL Certification (Israel), SEAS Method (Italy) and Lyon Method (France). Orthopedically, she is a manually trained NAIOMT and McKenzie therapist, clinical instructor and Level 3 ScolioPilates (TM) Practitioner. Currently, she owns a niche scoliosis practice, called ScolioAustin, where she seeks to provide the best pro-active and conservative treatment options for individuals with spinal deformities and scoliosis using strong, research-supported techniques that meet each individual’s unique curve.
She has strong relationships in the Austin family medicine, orthopedic and orthotic community allowing her to be connected to the resources you need, when you need them. She also works closely with multiple national-based orthotists to understand the breadth of bracing systems available to your children as well as hosting monthly brace clinics so that you don’t have to travel out of town for these services.
Outside clinic hours, she co-hosts an Adult Scoliosis Support group that meets, virtually, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month and is a big supporter of Curvy Girls, a local chapter that supports girls with scoliosis. She is an educator, author, guest speaker and part of the Texas Physical Therapy Association’s continuing education team.
